Standing Up for Bainbridge Schools

We must maintain good fiscal controls in order to rebuild our fund balance and ensure we're able to pass balanced budgets that meet the needs of students and families. 

Our administrators and staff deserve the clearest information when assessing program effectiveness and identifying unmet needs. I will encourage the use of data to ensure we are meeting the needs of all students. 

Families deserve tailored educational support and enriching options to help their children thrive. Bainbridge Island schools should have specialized programs to meet a variety of student needs.

Schools should not have to support our children alone. I believe in developing strong community partnerships for youth, so Bainbridge Island is THE most family-friendly and child-thriving community in the nation.

Students and our community are not monolithic. Islanders bring their talents and individual needs every day to our schools. I will work to ensure BISD is a welcoming place for all.

Now, more than ever, we need to reinforce our democratic ideals. Public school systems are our most localized form of government. I will prioritize open dialogue and community engagement to ensure all voices are heard.
